Mykhailo Reshetnyov – the founder of the satellite communications

Abstract— The article is devoted to analysis of life and career of M.F. Reshetnyov, designer of rocketry and organizer of space telecommunication systems. His links to Ukraine and the progress in his professional growth are shown. There are also considered the peculiarities of Reshetnyov’s working under S.P. Korolev management and working in cooperation with M.K. Yangel. Described are Reshetnyov’s contribution to the development of rocket technology and his role in establishing of a world-class enterprise based on the rocket design bureau. In this article the crucial role of Reshetnyov in creating of vast majority of Soviet satellites, space telecommunication systems and setting directions of further development of satellite communications is proved.
