Representatives of Ohievskii family and KPI

Abstract— The article is devoted to the representatives of the unique Ohievskii family who achieved considerable successes in science. In the article a short biographic review of Ohievskii family is given with more detailed information about those who related with Kyiv Politechnic Institute and hydrometeorological science. In the article the biographies and scientific works of Vasyl D. Ohievskii – founder of experimental forestry in Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr V. Ohievskii – one of the first specialists on radio engineering in Ukraine, organizer of radio engineering division in Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Anatolii V. Ohievskii – one of the founders of hydrology in Ukraine. Authors exposed the role of all of them in the development and formation of Ukrainian scientific school in radio engineering, hydrology, forestry and analysed the value of KPI in life and scientific and pedagogical activity of representatives of the unique Ohievskii family.
