Abstract There was identified available Ekaterinoslav scientific and technical societies in the late 19thearly 20th centuries. There were studied the basic stages of their organization and activities. There were clarified the characteristic features of their organizational structure and the forms of engineering activity. The contribution of engineering - Katerinoslavshchina scientific societies in the development of scientific -technical potential of the southern region of the country.
