Activity of Engineer Boris Loutzkoy in the field of aircraft manufacturing, aircraft engine building and airship building

Abstract— The article is devoted to Boris Loutzkoy, an outstanding designer of Ukrainian descent and to his activity in the field of aircraft manufacturing, aircraft engine building and airship building. Based on archival sources and published materials, the article presents the new and obscure biographic information about him. In particular, previously unknown documents from the personal archives of professor Dmytro Urnov and professor �leksandr Urnov (grandchildren of engineer Boris Vorobyov) are introduced into scientific circulation. Designs of airplanes, aircraft engines and airship created by Loutzkoy in Germany in 1908?1934 are described. Significant contribution of Loutzkoy to the development of world aircraft manufacturing, aircraft engine building and airship building is noted.
