Abstract— This paper attempt to identify the key milestones of life and activity of professor P. K. Khudyakov, a famous scientist, outstanding representative of the school of mechanical engineering, gifted teacher, active public figure, distinguished writer and bibliographer. The author is focused on the most important stages of Khudyakov’s activity and analyzes the main works of the scientist. The key role of L. D. Proskuryakov in the formation of the future world scientist Professor Khudyakov is indicated. The article aims at defining key milestones of Khudyakov’s professional activities. The methodological background of the study is the general principle of objectivity and historicism. The author concludes that scientific and pedagogical heritage of the scientist has not been accurately studied. Found that the history of science and technology applies equally to the humanity and the natural world. The proposed assertion that the historical philosophy of technology involves the understanding of art as a product of human civilization in the world‐wide scale; the question of how the theoretical model, laws of universal nature, methods, ideas, accumulated science, the incorporation of technology as a special subject of study. The proposed definition of the history of science and technology as an interdisciplinary field that examines the creation, development and consequences of the development of science and technology in their cultural, historical and social contexts
